Webclips 30

Hello,
Welcome to this months Webclips, let’s start with some 320iS goodness……Patrick Orth going for a quick time….great sounds and it does look really fast! http://bit.ly/YLwUVa
Here’s a great video from Petrolicious about the Targa California, it’s all about experiencing the back roads of Central California in vintage cars (1975 and older). It’s an homage to the original Targa Florio race in Sicily, its non-competitive 3-day vintage rally. There are Porsche 356's, Alfa Romeos, BMW 2002's plus many many more: http://vimeo.com/50545152
Next a short video by BMW about the various sounds made by a car, everything from the exhaust to the “lights left on” sound…… http://bit.ly/16aVO0w
Here’s a video from The Smoking Tyre about a bunch of cars supercharged by VF Engineering, it includes an E92 M3 with 620 BHP, Matt Farrah reviews them all: http://bit.ly/14xFUAU
Here’s a series of video’s from “Live and Let Drive” part 1: When Chris Harris Meets Alex Roy, I’m sure you’ll enjoy these, once you see the first one you’ll want to see the others (links are on the page): http://bit.ly/16pJOKG
Here’s a bit more Chris Harris with his 325 on the Wye Dean Rally: http://bit.ly/123Lirn and here’s what happened on their first test day: http://bit.ly/XwbA75
If you like the sound of a six cylinder BMW the chances are you’ll love this next video, it’s a tribute to the Audi S1, you know, the one that did rather well on the Pike Peak hill climb a few years ago, fantastic sounds: http://bit.ly/YooFP3
Oh, OK then, here’s one we’ve had before, Patrick Snijers on the Isle of Man a good few years ago now: http://bit.ly/14G3PyH
Not really a “Webclips” thing but I found this survey very interesting, the SMMT have put together the 2013 Motor Industry facts book, their study records the detail of each of the 35,760,901 cars, vans, trucks, buses and coaches on the UK’s roads at this time. It’s a fascinating read, the PDF of the report can be found here: http://bit.ly/YUFZhl
OK, so this last one is a bit strange…it’s a BMW advert that was run in South Africa for the M535i, eschewing the benefits of fuel injection over carburettors, however, the way they did it is a little strange: http://bit.ly/YTBlKr

Webclips 29

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, how about a trip down under to start, down to Bathurst 1985 to watch Roberto Ravaglia and Johnny Cecotto in the “Orange Bob Jane” car up against Kent Baigent  and Neal Lowe in the white car”: http://bit.ly/15XTT2e
Next up is Ryan Tuerck drifting his Toyota 1JZ engined car up a deserted mountain road, not everyones sup of tea but I quite like it, and you have to admit it takes some skill behind the wheel…  http://bit.ly/Wy5xd8
How about a motorcycle with a single wheel? I know, I thought it sounded mad too but when I watched the video I was amazed! This guy built this “contraption” based on a drawing his daughter showed him, the ingenuity is brilliant: http://bit.ly/XJ6UZZ

My top favourite is of course the E30, so here’s a bit of  the Tour de corse from 1992 with Patrick Bernardini, enjoy.. http://bit.ly/YFBvDG

Let’s get corporate for a minute or two with a video from BMW Performance, is it just me or do you also find the BMW narrator’s voice very “mechanical”?  You can find out more about the parts here:  http://www.bmw-mperformanceparts.com, anyway, here’s the video: http://bit.ly/YIQCi7
This one is a must see, it’s an inside view of the F30 3 series production facility, it just goes to show how few workers there are now in a production facility like this, many years ago when I worked at Jaguar cars an assembly line like the one seen in this video would be absolutely crawling with people….. http://bit.ly/XgKtf3
Another favourite of mine is Ken Block, normally he is seen on his own doing amazing things, spinning wheels and burning rubber, but how about Ken in a race? Well, this guy is committed (or should be!), just watch what he does when his car catches fire mid race… http://bit.ly/YSbEwv
Here’s a great video about a 2002, a channel called “Depth of Speed” went in search and found a beautiful Inka Orange edition, great video: http://bit.ly/VlcBxI
And finally, the crowds leaving Wembley…. http://bit.ly/YSaam1
