In the February edition of Straight Six......


The February edition of "Straight Six" the BMW Car Club monthly magazine will be with Club members in the next few days. It's 84 pages packed with all things BMW. This month, amongst other articles you will find:

National Festival - the biggest and the best!

It's just 200 days to go until the worlds biggest gathering of BMW's take's place and it's organised by YOUR club! This year we are having events on both the Saturday and the Sunday. On Saturday we will be holding the National Concours and a special E30 M3 birthday event, Richard Baxter (M Power Register and Director) is going to re-create the famous Jeremy Walton photograph from the "Unbeatable BMW's" book where the "///M" is made up entirely of E30 M3's!

On the Saturday night we will have a hog roast and entertainment for those that want to stay late, camp on site or stay nearby, and then on the Sunday we have the main event with it's usual attractions as well as continuing the E30 M3 birthday theme with road and race cars and another birthday celebration for the '02 series.

Tickets will go on sale in March with discounts for club members, watch this blog, facebook, the magazine etc. for more news as it happens.

Award winning club magazine "Straight Six"

Every month club members receive a high quality 80+ page magazine packed full of news and information that is of interest to club members throughout the country. You'll find the latest club news, an update on BMW Motorsports, reports and photographs from recent club events, details about discounts that club members can get along with classified advertisements and much more besides! Prodrive factory tour

One of the clubs local regions (Wessex) has organised a trip to Prodrive in Banbury for Saturday 16th April, tickets are £20 each. Please contact purebmw@btinternet.com to register your interest. A quick overview of the tour is below.

  • Coffee and welcome in the Prodrive heritage centre where you can view race and rally cars from Prodrive’s 25 years in world motorsport
  • Rally car transmission and engine build and dynos - to see what it takes to make an £80,000 gearboxThe workshops where we build the Subaru rally cars and the Aston Martin GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4 and the current Gulf liveried LMP1 sports cars and its V12 engines
  • Advanced manufacturing facilities where we fabricate and machine all the parts which go into our cars
