Last months WebClips from Straight Six

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, we’ll start with a very funny clip of Ricardo Patrese’s wife in the passenger seat of a Honda Civic Tyre R, she’s doesn’t realise it’s being filmed and obviously doesn’t normally sit next to him whilst on track! http://tinyurl.com/2dmybmr
Here’s a very old clip of Ari Vatanen with Dave Richards as his co-driver in an Opel Manta on the Manx Rally, it’s the classic “Dear God” quote from Dave Richards… http://tinyurl.com/2vkgfv
Here’s something a little more serious for Webclips, this guy was born with no arms and has learnt to drive and maintain his car, there are some obvious questions that I’ll let you think about but you can’t help admire him: http://tinyurl.com/42lbzjm He can also fire guns, do archery…..
There is a place (in the USA of course) where there is a “village” designed for your car…..I can’t explain…just watch the video http://tinyurl.com/69gjzgq
This next one was sent to me by Anthony Darling, he’s into cars and bikes and we had a bit of a discussion about who’s fastest….anyway, in this case it the ….. that wins, watch the video to find out, it a modified BMW M3 vs. a modified BMW RR http://tinyurl.com/3p4vze2
That was very serious, sort of, and back in the day I am sure that VW took their vehicle testing very seriously, well, let’s see shall we http://tinyurl.com/3v5zn98
Here’s a nice article on BaT (Bring a Trailer) about an S14 powered 2002, recently for sale in New York for just under $23K http://tinyurl.com/62ocew7

Club photo competition - have you voted?

For some reason we seem to struggle get members to vote for their favourite photo each month in the clubs photo competition, is is because you don't know about it? Can't find it? Don't think it's worth voting?
Whatever the reason it would be good to know, the people entering the photos take the time and effort to contribute to the activities the club is providing, it would be great if a few more people could go an take a look at the photos and vote for their favourite each month.
It can't be too onerous can it? All you have to do is look at some photos and pick your favourite, how bad can that be?
The competitions are here, look out for the one in the announcement area that has the word "Poll" in the title, that'll be the one to click on.....
Let's see some more votes this month eh?

Northern BMW & MINI Festival 2011 at Tatton Park

The largest gathering of BMWs in the North!
“Big fan of the Bavarian marque? Then the place to be on Sunday 10th July is the 11th Annual Northern BMW & MINI Festival, at Tatton Park, Cheshire.

The event, Sponsored by Blue Bell BMW of Wilmslow, attracts by far the largest gathering of BMWs in the North, with over 1,500 enthusiasts attending the show last year. And this year with the added attraction of the new MINI to the show, it promises to be the biggest gathering yet.

Along with the usual attractions like the Meguiars sponsored NW Concours, we also run a huge Show & Shine competition, entered by over 300 cars in 2010!

There will also be a giant BMW Tombola with ££££ of prizes, which is kindly supported by all the North West BMW dealers, with some amazing prizes on offer, a ‘Cars for Sale’ section and a chance to clean out your garage of all your autojumble.

The show attracts numerous traders, including someone to fix those minor blemishes and dents at lower than trade prices, repair those damaged wheels and polish out those scratches and swirls, so you can leave the show with a pristine car! Blue Bell will also be bringing along the new (bright orange!) M3 GTS and the new 1 Series M Coupe.

There will be displays from some of the club’s registers, including a huge display of M Power cars, Zeds, Alpinas and a parking area for the new MINI Register with over 50 MINIs already booked in!

Tatton Park itself boasts a stately home for you to explore, craft and gift shops and a wonderful 100 acre show garden not to be missed. With over 1500 acres of parkland where deer roam freely for you to explore, plus a kiddies farm, fun fair and adventure playground to keep the wee one’s happy there really is something for all the family.

This show is one not to be missed for the BMW enthusiast, and is open to the public, so everyone is welcome. The event starts at 10.00am, and pay on the gate entry costs only £2.50 per adult (children under 16 free) so even the price is right!!!”

For more details contact Jeff on 0161 678 2088.

Tatton Park (WA16 6QN) is situated just 5 minutes from Junction 7 of the M56 and 5 minutes from Junction 19 of the M6 and is signposted from both junctions, making it accessible for most within 1 hour.
