Webclips

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, first off this month something a little bit revolutionary in the world of video, a camera that allows live viewing, or at least recording, around 360 degrees. It’s been fairly common of late in some cameras but not for video: http://bit.ly/QvwrUt
How about Clarkson’s top 100 cars in full on YouTube, no reason for this really other than it’s good entertainment! http://bit.ly/VbDsZx
Oh, and a bit more Clarkson, although this one is more relevant, a comparison of the E46 M3 CSL and the E9 equivalent, also, you may recognise the registration number on the E9 as it belongs to a member of the club: http://bit.ly/Tx35FQ
Blimey, it’s Clarkson central around here, how many of you have seen the reviews of the new 1 Series M135i? Here’s Clarkson’s review from the Sunday Times: http://bit.ly/Wz3y7U closely followed by Chris Harris’ video view verses the Audi RS3 http://bit.ly/QT0xCN both very complimentary!
I have seen some serious off-roading videos on YouTube but this goes farther than I have seen before, the “Gall Boys in Queensland Australia….with caravans http://bit.ly/Tr8Wcm
Autocar recently posted a video of “how to make the perfect M3” where they consider the various elements of past M3’s that could/should be incorporated in the next M3 (2014) http://bit.ly/UfXNMl
How about some restoration, apologies it’s mostly M3 related: http://bit.ly/V9cuQ1 hopefully the links will still work when you read this article as they are from eBay: http://bit.ly/TyiBjR
A tractor that can do donuts…need I say more? http://bit.ly/UfY4ih
Here’s a great collection of videos on Bimmer Times (www.bimmertimes.com), you may have seen some of them before but they are all collected together here for ease of access, there’s also a little bit about each of the cars featured: http://bit.ly/Yfvy6O
World’s fastest street car over a standing mile @ 283 mph, pretty impressive stuff: http://bit.ly/Tyj3hU the car is based on a Ford GT.
A while back Maria de Villota had a bad accident at Duxford whilst testing for Marussia F1, here’s the full story and an interview with Maria after her recovery, she’s pretty keen to get back into racing as soon as she can: http://bit.ly/VaVR6H
Want to see something silly? How about the Dutch Superbus project: http://bit.ly/Wz5Aos I can’t see it getting very far…
Finally…..a man in the USA spent 17 years building a Lamborghini in his basement and didn’t even have a way of getting it out when he had finished: http://bit.ly/UwMVMk

Webclips

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, first off this month is a look at the insides of a few cars, here are some brilliant cutaways of various cars http://bit.ly/ROSNMO and a video from Sauber F1 explaining what all the bits are! http://bit.ly/PjrQFE
Something very topical next, how many of you have heard about the new M135i? It looks and sounds very exciting with 320 BHP and a shade under £30K! See what Chris Harris thinks of it, he also compares the Audi RS3 (yes RS3 not S3) http://bit.ly/T5sTn9
Something else fast, but quite a lot more is this 1992 Audi S4, 260 mph no less, and it’s the fastest “sedan” in the world, brilliant story and great pictures and video too http://bit.ly/OTDXYp
If you want to have a laugh, and at the same time be shocked by what people will drive around in and what they will do to keep their cars on the road take a look at this web site http://imgur.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop You’ll need to keep checking back every so often to remind yourself how badly some people treat their cars and what they will do to keep them rolling, although sometimes they probably shouldn’t! Here’s one good example seen on Jalopnik: http://bit.ly/TIZzUA
Ever needed to repair your car at the side of the road? This vide was clearly done in jest but it has a very good repair shown, visit the Australian outback for a lesson in radiator repair http://bit.ly/SbAiTE
I think I have probably shared this one with you once before, but I can’t remember so here goes again! It’s a new tyre of tyre that the army have been looking at, looks really good and you wouldn’t get any punctures: http://bit.ly/RbB1Gq
How about a bit of drifting, this is motorcycle vs. car drift battle #2….great fun and lots of burnt rubber! http://bit.ly/RffDi0 and to continue the theme here’s another on the same subject, again, great quality video call “keep drifting fun” http://vimeo.com/42252944
And finally for this month, “experience freedom”, another great video filmed with GoPro units (is there anything that isn’t these days?) with lots of skydiving…. http://vimeo.com/36778012
OK, so not quite finally….here’s one of an E30 M3 thrashing (and I mean thrashing) a Ferrari 458 Italia….great stuff! http://bit.ly/QA9i0t the E30 doesn’t look much but it certainly packs a might punch with a turbo on its E85!

Webclips

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, let’s start with a BMW Motorsport video of Augustus Farfus (DTM driver) giving his wife Liri Farus a ride around the Nurburgring in an M3, clearly Liri isn’t a good passenger! http://bit.ly/Q1zAH4
This one is interesting, a Smoking Tyre car comparison/review, this time they compare the Porsche Caymen R with the BMW 1M with some interesting results: http://bit.ly/PLFVHg and whilst we are on the subject of comparisons here’s one of the 3013 M5 and a 2013 Porsche Panamera GTS in what is tagged as an “epic super sedan showdown”… http://bit.ly/U7Q8nH
The nest one is topical (well it was when I found it), it’s actually an advert by Samsung as a sponsor of the London 2012 Paralympics, it’s titled “Sport doesn’t care who you are – Everyone can take part” and it’s quite thought provoking http://bit.ly/SuUul2
Here’s a BMW UK film about David Weir “Man and Machine”, BMW have attempted to show the connection between driver and car in the way that David has a connection with his wheelchair, I’m not sure that they have hit the spot but the insight into David’s training is well worth a look: http://bit.ly/VpQUua
Now for some fun, if you have ever seen anything that Alex Roy is involved in then you will realise that driving, speed and fun and games are usually involved, however, in this case the speed element is missing…. http://bit.ly/SYb2UH
Here are a couple from Chris Tranter, the first is a little weird (it’s all in Swedish) but a great bit of insight into Alpina from a 1992 TV Program: http://bit.ly/U7Sov9 (the wheels on the B12 could do with a refurb!) and the second, also Alpina, is much more up to date and is of a B6 GT3 car (driver Dominik Schwager) at the Nurburgring, I love those machine gun style gear-changes: http://bit.ly/SAC3sg
How about some fun? A self-styled super hero with “silly string” and generally having fun in a Spiderman kid of way, you must watch this! http://bit.ly/O93OKB
If any of you are familiar with Evo magazine or Pistonheads then you will have heard of Chris Harris, Chris is quite an opinionated chap but he’s a good driver and puts together a great video, here he is invited to go on a tyre launch which involves a Lancia Delta S4, Lancia 037, Stratos (amongst others) and also Markku Alen and Juha Kankkunen ….quite a line up! http://bit.ly/KS3uhi
And finally a bit of E21 action in the form of a hillclimb car, it’s a 2 litre car with about 220 BHP, looks and sounds fantastic http://bit.ly/gGRG4h

Tuesday 2 October 2012

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, let’s start with some history this month, and it’s also topical given that it is BMW “M”s 40th anniversary, this is an official BMW film and well worth a watch http://bit.ly/NIsO7t
Next is a follow up to an article that has been kicking around on Jalopnik for a while now about a Ferrari that was buried in a backyard in Los Angeles in 1978, it’s very interesting and there is also a video from its current owner: http://bit.ly/Rx8WoM  video here: http://bit.ly/NDo5tH
The next video is a review by Car and Driver magazine comparing a 1967 Lotus Elan and a modern day Mazda MX5 (Super 20 concept), for me the best parts are the reviews of the Lotus: http://bit.ly/PTNkGM
Way off topic next (do I have a topic?), how about the fantastic achievement of getting a vehicle to Mars, and what’s more amazing is the quality of the pictures that it is sending back, let’s hope that it doesn’t need the AA or RAC out here! Here’s a brilliant panorama sent back soon after Curiosity landed http://bit.ly/T6doix
Back on topic, and a familiar one for me, another great article about the E30 M3 and Mercedes 190E by Automobile Magazine (USA), http://bit.ly/QO1tGO has a bit of history into both models introduction as well as a comparison.
Some gratuitous E30 M3 rally car action next…. http://bit.ly/QanUnQ brilliant!
This next one is very interesting, it’s about the Classic Car Club (http://www.classiccarclub.com) In 2004 Jalopnik asked its readers what cool cars they would buy if they had $1M to spend, the Classic Car club was formed in Manhattan New York in 2005 and the founders told Jalopnik that they were going to do just that: http://bit.ly/PLamBj These guys have to keep this cars running so that any member can borrow them and drive them all the time!
OK, so this is also a bit off track but on topic (for me), it’s a drifting video but it’s all done in a front wheel drive Toyota Avensis Diesel…… http://bit.ly/NDpIHR makes no sense to me at all….but the video is great.
A bit of fun next with the Slo Mo Guys, tennis, with a difference http://bit.ly/PLbGnE
Heard about the Ascari Resort but by Klaus Zwaart who owns Ascari?  Well this is a similar idea that was inspired by that very resort but in America by a banker called Alan Wilzig. Not as extensive or spectacular in my view but I wouldn’t say no if the opportunity to drive there came up http://bit.ly/Ry212N
And finally, do you think your reactions are good? How about the reactions of this 19 year old Formula 2 racing driver Dino Zamparelli, I think I would have crashed: http://bit.ly/R6bYjg

We also have our own video channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/BMWCCGB and our photos on flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/bmwccgb/. Straight Six WebClips

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, let’s start with something a little different, you all know that I am a keen photographer so how about “camera wars”….it’s just a bit of fun! http://bit.ly/RmCDtf
And now for an all-electric E36 Pikes Peak race car…and it sounds awesome, well, it actually doesn’t sound much at all but Bill Caswell was making quite a lot of noise whilst test driving it! http://bit.ly/OLOGDR
I am a big fan of slow motion and HD video, this next clip is right on topic for that subject and it’s about racing so I think you’ll like it, http://bit.ly/MncJcA , some of the clips in there you may have seen before but overall it’s a great video.
Chris Tranter sent me the next two, the first is of Sean Treacy in his BMW 2002: http://bit.ly/MCvTXv and the second if from the 1979 M1 Procar series at Hockenheim, http://bit.ly/T5WT5k Many thanks to Chris for sending through the clips.
The next clip is absolutely awesome (and I do mean that!), it’s from the USA and it’s all about the Henessey Venom GT, this is essentially a Lotus Exige, but there is little of the original left. It has 1200+ BHP and a theoretical top speed of 272 MPH…be amazed….. http://bit.ly/NeihBc
Something a little slower now, ever heard of “hydro graphics”? I hadn’t until I watched this video, it’s brilliant the way they apply the graphics by floating the film on water, yes, you heard me correctly…now watch the video and see the results: http://bit.ly/OuNxws
By now you have probably all seen Ken Block’s latest “Gymkhana” but just in case…have a look at this WRC driver cum stunt man and see how many sets of tyres he can get through to create a 10 minute video http://bit.ly/QzfB7U
Slowing down the pace a little, here’s something called a time lapse video, 3000 photos were used to create this video of an engine for a Triumph Spitfire, lots of patience was also needed by the sounds of it http://bit.ly/Qm5YH6
And finally, a non-car related link, this is stunning, using remote controlled aeroplanes with DragonLink fitted which allows them to fly further away (higher and lower also), add to that the use of GoPro HD cameras and you have a great sequence of videos http://bit.ly/Qm6GnX

Straight Six Webclips

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, let’s start this month with a link that a club member sent me, it’s a video from one of the “M” Driving Experiences at the Nurburgring in an E92 M3, it’s by no means flat out but it’s interesting since there is telemetry on board and it’s an “official” BMW video: http://bit.ly/M1BMxy
I guess you must all be familiar with Pistonheads, if not, you should be! Chris Harris was seen recently on a Road Testament video asking whether technology was spoiler cars “Is technology making cars worse?” http://bit.ly/LLygoD in which he also talks about how good the E46 M3 is in terms of its completeness, low and behold a few days later a buying guide appears on Pistonheads for the E46 M3: http://bit.ly/Oe6JkI
Here’s one that will no doubt make James Sohl cringe, it’s the Wheeler Dealers doing a buying guide on the 635CDSi, James hasn’t changed that much! http://bit.ly/P1lQk5
This next one is in Russion (bear with me), and it’s only 27 seconds long, I know that modern car Hi Fi can be very loud, but I had no idea that it could move this much air: http://bit.ly/Nf5Cyg
Make sure you have some spare time before you click this next link, it’s Jason Statham narrating the Story of Audi’s recent LeMans activities, it lasts about an hour and a half but is well worth watching http://bit.ly/M1HS1a and if that is not enough there is a part II, another hour and 22 minutes… http://bit.ly/M1IyU6
If you think it’s dangerous on the roads over here, take a look at Russia (that’s the second time in one webclips…) http://bit.ly/LsO2q8
I love this next one, it’s Magnus Walker, the so-called “Urban Outlaw”, a British guy who made his money in the fashion business but loves his Porsche’s, sounds like a really nice guy too! http://bit.ly/NXl95c (it’s also a really high quality video too so watch it full screen if you can).
I thought I was going to get through without any non-car videos but then spotted this: http://bit.ly/N4I3tv all it shows is a trail ploughing through deep snow but it’s somehow satisfting to watch.

Straight Six webclips article from last month

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, let’s start with something that I thought wasn’t real!, This (very large) aeroplane is being lifted up by the wind. Now I know that this is exactly what makes them take off and stay in the air but this looks wrong: http://bit.ly/N6fBcj Bear in mind that this is a 747!!!
How good are you are you at parallel parking? Do you think you could do this? http://bit.ly/JXhs3D I doubt it, the world record is now less than 9 inches (22cm), that’s a gap that is just 22cm longer than the car you are parking in it, go on, you know you want to…
This next one is great, how many of us have fancied having a go at tailing a car and wondering if you have been spotted? It is said that these videos were produced by MI5 for the CIA back in the early 70’s, there’s quite a bit of extra explanation below the videos, video 1 is here: http://bit.ly/Lim3ZO and second one here: http://bit.ly/KlrwDl
OK, so who wants one of these? It’s got just under 840 bhp at the wheels and runs on normal petrol, it’s a Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, with a quick run on the dyno spitting flames. http://bit.ly/MjL6Re
How about one man’s journal of modifications to his Z4 M Coupe? It’s a great read and lots of tasty modifications: http://bit.ly/LVPRdk
Here’s a quick BMW video with that very dry commentary, I can’t understand why they use this guy, he should show some excitement when talking about the 3 series! http://bit.ly/JXkPrj
I haven’t found too many non-car videos this month so here’s an epic one, brilliant quality and fantastic flying from Kirby Chambliss, you will love this video! http://bit.ly/LVRc3E
If you ever need a fork list driver then look out for this guy, he either has a natural talent or has been practicing for weeks to be able to do this http://bit.ly/JXmfC2 and that’s not a small fork lift truck.
I love a bit of super slow motion, here are some stuff being smashed….doesn’t sound interesting? Watch the video, I think you’ll like it http://bit.ly/L8mjrW
And finally here’s one that Michael Johnson sent to me, it’s about the VW Phaeton factory in Germany, all looks very modern http://bit.ly/LbbZoT

WebClips - links to items on the interwebs

Welcome to webclips, let’s start with a few “blasts from the past”, here’s a Pistonheads thread with scans of a load of old 70’s and 80’s car brochures, how many do you remember, better still, how many did you own! http://bit.ly/J1KCcj
Here’s a build in photographs of a 1986 E38 with an S38B engine and gearbox plus uprated brakes etc, very nice build: http://bit.ly/Kn77b1
How about a glider that you can launch “on foot”? Must be the closest thing to flying naturally that there is, it’s amazing! http://bit.ly/JE5CG8
Back to motorised stuff now…a go kart that has a Yamaha R1 motorcycle engine in a Beisse Shifter chassis sporting around 180BHP!  It weighs in at about 220lbs, apparently the previous owner had it up to 181 mph before a tire blew out. http://bit.ly/IlnoAp
Here’s a great video for all you budding car photographers, Blair Bunting photographs and then Photoshop’s a Lamborghini Aventador, it’s very interesting http://bit.ly/JJHs0C
Great spin recovery from Jamie Whincup in an Australian race http://bit.ly/Kk09D4
OK, we’ve had the glider, now a Personal Air and Land Vehicle (PAL-V), it’s a car and a plane type thing (gyrocopter), and apparently it’s legal in the air and on the road http://bit.ly/IlsGhi
By now you know that I am a fan of drifting (when done well!), here are three motorcycle riders doing a great job of it on two wheels: http://bit.ly/IA2gpb
Here’s an interesting article on the BBC web site about “halo” cars, according to BMW (and others) they are very important to the brand: “It is very, very important for us," says BMW's Mr Cox. "It's seen as a brand shaper. People want to be part of that club." Which is great news for fans of high performance variants of what are otherwise normal everyday cars: http://bbc.in/IifKoS
Like thrills? Want to be scared? How about a very fast downhill ride on a bike? This is really scary stuff: http://bit.ly/Kk0PZc
This next one is titled “People ARE Amazing 2012” and I have to agree, what it is that drives some people to do some of this stuff bewilders me, but I applaud their efforts and long may they continue….otherwise we’d have nothing to put in this column! http://bit.ly/JSzUH9

BMW has worlds most valuable car brand

BMW has usurped Toyota as the world's most valuable car brand, according to an annual survey commissioned by communications services group WPP.
The BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands survey, which is conducted by research company Millward Brown Optimor and is now in its seventh year, identifies and ranks the world's most valuable brands by their dollar value, an analysis based on financial data, market intelligence and consumer measures of brand equity.
Toyota topped the car sector of the survey in 2011, but its brand value has fallen by ten per cent in the past 12 months, whereas BMW's has risen by the same amount.
The Bavarian manufacturer's rise was aided by record sales growth around the globe, as was fellow German marque Volkswagen, which enjoyed a 15 per cent increase in its brand value and moved into the overall Top 100 of BrandZ's Most Valuable Global Brands.
Hyundai continued its global rise by breaking into the top ten of the survey's car brand sector for the first time.
The report noted that luxury cars may have experienced a negative impact from the rise in car quality overall. Because of generally improved performance, attention to design and the availability of sophisticated technology, factors that usually define luxury were available more broadly and less expensively.
All of the car brands were dwarfed by technology firm Apple, which topped the survey for the second year in succession. Apple's worth was valued at $182.9 billion and technology and communications firms dominate the upper echelons of the list, whereas BMW came in at number 23.
BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Car Brands 2012
1 BMW $24,623m (brand value)
2 Toyota $21,779m
3 Mercedes-Benz $16,111m
4 Honda $12,647m
5 Nissan $9853m
6 Volkswagen $8519m
7 Ford $7025m
8 Audi $4703m
9 Hyundai $3598m
10 Lexus $3392m

WebClips - links to items on the interwebs

Welcome to webclips, I’m starting this edition with what is probably the world’s fastest Lotus, with a 50% better power to weight ration than a Bugatti Veyron….and all built in what looks like a home workshop! http://bit.ly/HA1DvK
And straight to a vehicle with perhaps the complete opposite (in terms of power), you know I like to watch free-running and trick motorbike stunts, watch this next clip and see if you can believe what this kid is doing on the bike (that’s bicycle not motorbike!) http://bit.ly/H7XLAe
And from one amazing piece of physics to another, the helicopter, this is the first in a series of videos explaining how helicopters work, but to start the operator does a bit of a demo….amazing…. http://bit.ly/H5wCjH
OK, back to cars for a minute, here’s a great thread on e30owners.com about the rebuild of a 1986 E30 M3 http://bit.ly/HuJbXE There is so much detail in this thread that it’s almost a “how to” article on rebuilding an M3!
I guess most of you reading this must have owned a “British” car at some time? I certainly did, I had a Truimph 1500TC followed by a Dolomite 1850HL and an MG Metro, here’s a site dedicated to Austin Rover vehicles, some great nostalgia here: http://bit.ly/HbQ896 Speaking of Triumph, did you all see the rumours on the BMW CCA web site about BMW potentially resurrecting the Triumph name for a small sports car? http://bit.ly/Hco8XI
OK, back to more frivolous stuff…..trike drifting, looks like great fun but I think I’d be wearing some sturdy shoes! http://bit.ly/HzE2tX
I may have shown you all this one before but someone reminded me about it just recently, it’s a scale model of a Ferrari 312PB, http://bit.ly/HxrXEi The engine is similar to the one in this clip: http://bit.ly/HwGgr1
Here’s a great one that John Trist found, a couple of minutes of M1 ProCar’s at Monaco in 1979 http://bit.ly/H5jzeH fantastic!  And here’s a great video that Michael Johnson sent to me, it’s a “Drift Battle” between a car and a bike (there’s also a radio controlled car in the mix videoing it!) http://bit.ly/Hwu3HP
Now a couple of non car links, here are some fantastic panorama’s of cities from around the world: http://bit.ly/HHrT5j and finally (I thought that bit was clever as the next video is a BBC news clip…sort of) from “Cassetteboy” it’s a new take on the BBC news: http://bit.ly/HbR6lK

WebClips - links to items on the interwebs

Welcome to webclips, I thought I would start with a non-car item first, how about a bridge being blown up? It’s the Fort Steuben Bridge to be precise, no idea if it has any significance but it’s a great video! http://bit.ly/wLyi2A
How about Z1 style doors that disappear completely, it’s a prototype by Jaytech and surprisingly the video was made as recently as 2007, by looking at it you might be temped to say it was the 1980’s! http://bit.ly/wC3bpl   Right, back to normal now, a 700 BHP E90 M3!, sounds great and whilst it’s been developed and filmed in the USA the tuner sounds English: http://bit.ly/yQO75n
Chris Harris is now contributing to the YouTube “Drive” channel, his latest  musings are on living with the McLaren MP4-12C: http://bit.ly/yXoq5S I think he likes it! This next one is from John Castle, not sure if John is playing video games in his spare time but this is an classic 1971 3.0CSL being “spanked” around the Top Gear test track…in Forza 4, it’s amazing how good video games are these days… http://bit.ly/ws3YIR
This next one is worth a read; this chap in the USA has put 750,000 miles on his Honda Civic in just 5 years, It’s not hard to imagine that a car can do this sort of mileage given the right care and attention, however, I think most people would be dropping their car off into the main dealer about once a week at the rate this guy racks up the miles, and he does pretty much all the servicing himself on his driveway. http://jalo.ps/xkBDMg
Apparently, microwaves ruin everything: http://bit.ly/yZBOzD and with some weird looking organic fire retardant foam you can point a welding torch at your hand (7,500 degrees C)….don’t try any of these at home http://bit.ly/ylK046
There’e never enough coverage of Z4’s…..so here’s a nice little clip of one going flat out… http://bit.ly/wflATy oh, and it’s a GT3!
And finally, a bit of gratuitous “blowing things up”, don’t worry, it’s only an old MG Midget…but filmed at 1000 frames per second so you can see every little detail! http://bit.ly/x8gfLE

WebClips - links to items on the interwebs

Webclips from last months magazine

Welcome to webclips, sit down, strap in and turn the volume up to maximum for this first one!
http://bit.ly/wUBajE it’s Erich Edlinger in his BMW 320 (E30) IRL at Kitzeck in 2011, sounds fabulous! I have to admit there’s not much E30 left but it certainly goes!
This next one is from PistonHeads, how about a 500HP Audi A1? This car was built by VW Group tuning specialists MTM, they call it the “Nardo” edition, story  here: http://bit.ly/x6DlWn and video here: http://bit.ly/yf9E5w
I’m not really into surfing, I have had a go a body boarding whilst on holiday in Cornwall and that can be great fun, but this is in another league: http://bit.ly/x2Cpam It was shot off the coast of Tahiti near the village of Teahupoo, I think they actually call them “Teahupoo’s”.
How about a shortened 205 GTi doing VERY tight donuts? Stoppies? http://bit.ly/zAOaXU it looks like fun but I think I’d probably be dizzy doing that many donuts that quickly!
Bit of class next, the Targa Florio as recorded in 1972, it’s almost a mini documentary at nearly 10 minutes long…. http://bit.ly/xfDgbP
How about digging up a Dino 246 GT in your back garden whilst getting those last few potatoes out at the end of the year, what you mean you don’t have a car under your patio? You’re missing out! http://jalo.ps/yfRZtr
What do you think about the “check engine” warning light? I guess most of you reading this will be better informed than most so will appreciate why it’s there, Jason Torchinsky of Jalopnik thinks they should be banned, here’s his argument: http://jalo.ps/yeafZO
And finally, this is what I want fitted to the back (and front!) of my car, a very clever “Gatling” gun exhaust pipe contraption: http://bit.ly/xIhniy

WebClips - links to items on the interwebs

Webclips from last months magazine...

Be careful when jump starting your car!

Welcome to webclips, another eclectic mix of links again this month, I’m starting with a bit of a close shave, watch this video to see why:
http://bit.ly/skS49B The next one is a new version of a story I have heard many times before, usually for rallying but occasionally for racing, you probably know the story, the race car needs a part, the team doesn’t have it and so they look for a suitable donor in the car par, well, on this occasion they already had the donor car ready as they have invited the owner of a car they “borrowed” parts from last year to hang out with the team as a thanks you! http://jalo.ps/tYTfg0
I have shared a video like this with you before, it’s a roller-blader called Jean Yves Blondeau, I think some of the footage is a repeat from the old video but this now one is well worth a watch! http://bit.ly/vK10mL
I really can’t work out the “rider” in this next video actually stayed alive, you’ll just have to watch it to see what I mean: http://bit.ly/vgMoLL
How about washing your car with one bucket of water? No pre-wash or leather down afterwards required! http://bit.ly/vlFN3c
I got this next one thanks to member Chris Tranter, it’s also topical. As I am sure you know, BMW are a main sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics and so I think we will probably see more of this kind of thing: http://bit.ly/sCxmNR
Here’s an old Fifth gear “fun” test, where Tiff and Jason test an M3 and a Lexus ISF, it’s all done in the interests of science…not http://bit.ly/rABhh0
With the release of the new M5 I thought you might like to take a look at a summary of the life of the previous M5s, there’s a nice collection of videos along with a link to the original BMW Press release from July 2010: http://aol.it/s9P56J
That’s it for this month, don’t forget to send me your links, I leave you all with this picture, it’s a piece of BBC Top Gear clothing so some of you may have had this giggle before: http://bit.ly/vcUoTq
