Webclips

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, let’s start with a BMW Motorsport video of Augustus Farfus (DTM driver) giving his wife Liri Farus a ride around the Nurburgring in an M3, clearly Liri isn’t a good passenger! http://bit.ly/Q1zAH4
This one is interesting, a Smoking Tyre car comparison/review, this time they compare the Porsche Caymen R with the BMW 1M with some interesting results: http://bit.ly/PLFVHg and whilst we are on the subject of comparisons here’s one of the 3013 M5 and a 2013 Porsche Panamera GTS in what is tagged as an “epic super sedan showdown”… http://bit.ly/U7Q8nH
The nest one is topical (well it was when I found it), it’s actually an advert by Samsung as a sponsor of the London 2012 Paralympics, it’s titled “Sport doesn’t care who you are – Everyone can take part” and it’s quite thought provoking http://bit.ly/SuUul2
Here’s a BMW UK film about David Weir “Man and Machine”, BMW have attempted to show the connection between driver and car in the way that David has a connection with his wheelchair, I’m not sure that they have hit the spot but the insight into David’s training is well worth a look: http://bit.ly/VpQUua
Now for some fun, if you have ever seen anything that Alex Roy is involved in then you will realise that driving, speed and fun and games are usually involved, however, in this case the speed element is missing…. http://bit.ly/SYb2UH
Here are a couple from Chris Tranter, the first is a little weird (it’s all in Swedish) but a great bit of insight into Alpina from a 1992 TV Program: http://bit.ly/U7Sov9 (the wheels on the B12 could do with a refurb!) and the second, also Alpina, is much more up to date and is of a B6 GT3 car (driver Dominik Schwager) at the Nurburgring, I love those machine gun style gear-changes: http://bit.ly/SAC3sg
How about some fun? A self-styled super hero with “silly string” and generally having fun in a Spiderman kid of way, you must watch this! http://bit.ly/O93OKB
If any of you are familiar with Evo magazine or Pistonheads then you will have heard of Chris Harris, Chris is quite an opinionated chap but he’s a good driver and puts together a great video, here he is invited to go on a tyre launch which involves a Lancia Delta S4, Lancia 037, Stratos (amongst others) and also Markku Alen and Juha Kankkunen ….quite a line up! http://bit.ly/KS3uhi
And finally a bit of E21 action in the form of a hillclimb car, it’s a 2 litre car with about 220 BHP, looks and sounds fantastic http://bit.ly/gGRG4h

Tuesday 2 October 2012

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, let’s start with some history this month, and it’s also topical given that it is BMW “M”s 40th anniversary, this is an official BMW film and well worth a watch http://bit.ly/NIsO7t
Next is a follow up to an article that has been kicking around on Jalopnik for a while now about a Ferrari that was buried in a backyard in Los Angeles in 1978, it’s very interesting and there is also a video from its current owner: http://bit.ly/Rx8WoM  video here: http://bit.ly/NDo5tH
The next video is a review by Car and Driver magazine comparing a 1967 Lotus Elan and a modern day Mazda MX5 (Super 20 concept), for me the best parts are the reviews of the Lotus: http://bit.ly/PTNkGM
Way off topic next (do I have a topic?), how about the fantastic achievement of getting a vehicle to Mars, and what’s more amazing is the quality of the pictures that it is sending back, let’s hope that it doesn’t need the AA or RAC out here! Here’s a brilliant panorama sent back soon after Curiosity landed http://bit.ly/T6doix
Back on topic, and a familiar one for me, another great article about the E30 M3 and Mercedes 190E by Automobile Magazine (USA), http://bit.ly/QO1tGO has a bit of history into both models introduction as well as a comparison.
Some gratuitous E30 M3 rally car action next…. http://bit.ly/QanUnQ brilliant!
This next one is very interesting, it’s about the Classic Car Club (http://www.classiccarclub.com) In 2004 Jalopnik asked its readers what cool cars they would buy if they had $1M to spend, the Classic Car club was formed in Manhattan New York in 2005 and the founders told Jalopnik that they were going to do just that: http://bit.ly/PLamBj These guys have to keep this cars running so that any member can borrow them and drive them all the time!
OK, so this is also a bit off track but on topic (for me), it’s a drifting video but it’s all done in a front wheel drive Toyota Avensis Diesel…… http://bit.ly/NDpIHR makes no sense to me at all….but the video is great.
A bit of fun next with the Slo Mo Guys, tennis, with a difference http://bit.ly/PLbGnE
Heard about the Ascari Resort but by Klaus Zwaart who owns Ascari?  Well this is a similar idea that was inspired by that very resort but in America by a banker called Alan Wilzig. Not as extensive or spectacular in my view but I wouldn’t say no if the opportunity to drive there came up http://bit.ly/Ry212N
And finally, do you think your reactions are good? How about the reactions of this 19 year old Formula 2 racing driver Dino Zamparelli, I think I would have crashed: http://bit.ly/R6bYjg

Drifting a FWD Toyota Avensis Diesel....now I have seen it all!
