Webclips 29
Hello,
Welcome to webclips, how about a trip down under to start, down to Bathurst 1985 to watch Roberto Ravaglia and Johnny Cecotto in the “Orange Bob Jane” car up against Kent Baigent and Neal Lowe in the white car”: http://bit.ly/15XTT2e

Next up is Ryan Tuerck drifting his Toyota 1JZ engined car up a
deserted mountain road, not everyones sup of tea but I quite like it, and you
have to admit it takes some skill behind the wheel… http://bit.ly/Wy5xd8
How about a motorcycle with a single wheel? I know, I thought it
sounded mad too but when I watched the video I was amazed! This guy built this
“contraption” based on a drawing his daughter showed him, the ingenuity is
brilliant: http://bit.ly/XJ6UZZ
My top favourite is of course the E30,
so here’s a bit of the Tour de corse
from 1992 with Patrick Bernardini, enjoy.. http://bit.ly/YFBvDG
Let’s get corporate for a minute or two with a video from BMW
Performance, is it just me or do you also find the BMW narrator’s voice very
“mechanical”? You can find out more
about the parts here: http://www.bmw-mperformanceparts.com,
anyway, here’s the video:
http://bit.ly/YIQCi7
This one is a must see, it’s an inside view of the F30 3 series
production facility, it just goes to show how few workers there are now in a
production facility like this, many years ago when I worked at Jaguar cars an
assembly line like the one seen in this video would be absolutely crawling with
people….. http://bit.ly/XgKtf3
Another favourite of mine is Ken Block, normally he is seen on his
own doing amazing things, spinning wheels and burning rubber, but how about Ken
in a race? Well, this guy is committed (or should be!), just watch what he does
when his car catches fire mid race… http://bit.ly/YSbEwv
Here’s a great video about a 2002, a channel called “Depth of
Speed” went in search and found a beautiful Inka Orange edition, great video: http://bit.ly/VlcBxI
And finally, the crowds leaving Wembley…. http://bit.ly/YSaam1
To see all the webclips links on-line please visit the blog http://bmwccgb.blogspot.com/ if you go top the clubs main web page and click on
the orange “B” you should find the webclips.

Webclips 28
You get two doses of Webclips this month as I have decided to publish them here ahead of them being published in the magazine in order to help me stay sane!
Hello,
Welcome to webclips, lets start how we mean to go on! I’m kicking off this month with some fantastic sounds of an E30 M3 with a sequential gearbox: http://bit.ly/VCL7Vi It’s a 1991 Bigazzi car raced by Steve Soper, the main modification being the gearbox, awesome!

Next up is Rhys Millen in his Hyundai Genesis with around 750hp
and 750lbs torque running up Pikes Peak, he sets a new record…. http://bit.ly/Y2zZMc it’s
all filmed on GoPro cameras which seem to have taken over the world for action
video, here’s another filmed with GoPro at Petit LeMans: http://bit.ly/Wn7uN4 The
quality of the video is amazing for such a small camera.
Here’s something a bit different, chasing some downhill
skateboarders, it’s surprising how fast they can go: http://bit.ly/12k0yn5 The
car it’s being filmed from is a Volvo C30 Polestar….
This next one is a bit of fun (for us watching anyway!), the
guys over at Roadkill decided to buy a car on route to a drag race, fix it up
and then drag it! These guys have so much fun… http://bit.ly/VH1ZH5
Let it never be said we don’t have variety on Webclips,
here’s a review of the new Audi RS5 by The Smoking Tyre, it’s always
interesting to see these reviews especially when they refer to other cars…such
as the BMW M3! http://bit.ly/WOHJo8
You are going to love this next video, especially if you
like Alpina’s, Petrolicious have put together this video of a pair of E24
Alpina’s, looking around their workshop it looks like they could do a few more
interesting videos. http://vimeo.com/57421694 It’s worth heading over to the Petrolicious
web site for some other great videos http://vimeo.com/petroli
one I especially like is this one of Jack Olsen’s 911, but not just that, it’s
also the coverage of his brilliantly put together garage http://vimeo.com/57909173
Please don’t drive like this guy does in Georgia, the guy is
a lunatic and it’s a wonder he hasn’t
killed someone yet, if he were a stuntman or drifter you’d say he was very good
at what he does, however, on the streets it’s just crazy http://bit.ly/X5RIUh
How about some National Geographic? Probably not what you
would expect though, they have a channel dedicated to supercars! This one
covers the Pagani Huayra, fascinating stuff: http://bit.ly/YtSSd7
And finally, a quick video compilation of a few Hoon-I-Gan’s
having fun…. http://bit.ly/UOJmBG

Hello,
Welcome to webclips, first off this month a look at the work of Bodie Stroud, an American custom hot rod builder and he “re-imagining” of a classic Mustang, it’s great viewing: http://bit.ly/UaTrp2

I have paint protection film on the front of my car and I
have seen many cars with coloured “wraps” but I have never seen a car that has
been sprayed with plastic, I think this is a relatively new thing from the USA,
the company is called “Dip Your Car” and it seems that they have some very
interesting paint products http://bit.ly/Ykm3hl
This next item is courtesy of Michelin; it’s a series of
videos about people with a driving passion, there’s items about the Porsche 918
Spyder, Georges Blanc, Olaf Manthey anf Goodwood: http://bit.ly/V6IWnO
Can you imagine driving into the car park of something like
Demon Tweeks and attempting to do an engine swap right there? To top it off the
store that these guys chose also stayed open late in order to help them out! http://bit.ly/UvolfH
This next one is a bit of a favourite
of mine, it’s Bugatti’s head of designs personal Porsche 911 and all of the
mods that he has done to personalise and improve the car, very interesting to
watch: http://bit.ly/Ykr6OL
You know I like burn outs, well this
really is the last work in burnouts, the power this beast has is immense, they
even set fire to the scenery… http://bit.ly/YQ0zxI
For this next one you need to be both an M3 nut and have plenty of
time spare (an hour and a half actually) as it’s various E30 M3’s tearing up
the rally stages….I enjoyed the bits I watched http://bit.ly/TrzFHt
This next one is almost the exact opposite of that M3 one, very
quiet, refined and thoughtful…..it’s Andy Green in a Bentley…maxing it out on
the Bonneville Salt Flats: http://bit.ly/TleI2g
These next few were sent to me by Chris Tranter, a V12 Le Mans
engine X5: http://bit.ly/YQ6H99 A
1987 AMSCAR Amaroo race: http://bit.ly/UvsLDj and an E9 CSL at Road Atlanta http://bit.ly/12IdMsv
Chris is a regular contributor to this column and I’d like to thank him for his
support.
And finally, here’s a nice bit of history from BMW, various
pages with cars and history and also videos on design, characteristics,
inspiration etc, all very interesting: http://bit.ly/VgQfZk

Webclips
Hello,
Welcome to webclips, first off this month something a little bit revolutionary in the world of video, a camera that allows live viewing, or at least recording, around 360 degrees. It’s been fairly common of late in some cameras but not for video: http://bit.ly/QvwrUt

How about Clarkson’s top 100 cars in full on YouTube, no
reason for this really other than it’s good entertainment! http://bit.ly/VbDsZx
Oh, and a bit more Clarkson, although this one is more
relevant, a comparison of the E46 M3 CSL and the E9 equivalent, also, you may
recognise the registration number on the E9 as it belongs to a member of the
club: http://bit.ly/Tx35FQ
Blimey, it’s Clarkson central around here, how many of you
have seen the reviews of the new 1 Series M135i? Here’s Clarkson’s review from
the Sunday Times: http://bit.ly/Wz3y7U
closely followed by Chris Harris’ video view verses the Audi RS3 http://bit.ly/QT0xCN both very complimentary!
I have seen some serious off-roading videos on YouTube but
this goes farther than I have seen before, the “Gall Boys in Queensland
Australia….with caravans http://bit.ly/Tr8Wcm
Autocar recently posted a video of “how to make the perfect
M3” where they consider the various elements of past M3’s that could/should be
incorporated in the next M3 (2014) http://bit.ly/UfXNMl
How about some restoration, apologies it’s mostly M3
related: http://bit.ly/V9cuQ1 hopefully the
links will still work when you read this article as they are from eBay: http://bit.ly/TyiBjR
A tractor that can do donuts…need I say more? http://bit.ly/UfY4ih
Here’s a great collection of videos on Bimmer Times (www.bimmertimes.com), you may have seen
some of them before but they are all collected together here for ease of
access, there’s also a little bit about each of the cars featured: http://bit.ly/Yfvy6O
World’s fastest street car over a standing mile @ 283 mph,
pretty impressive stuff: http://bit.ly/Tyj3hU
the car is based on a Ford GT.
A while back Maria de Villota had a bad accident at Duxford
whilst testing for Marussia F1, here’s the full story and an interview with
Maria after her recovery, she’s pretty keen to get back into racing as soon as
she can: http://bit.ly/VaVR6H
Want to see something silly? How about the Dutch Superbus
project: http://bit.ly/Wz5Aos I can’t see it
getting very far…
Finally…..a man in the USA spent 17 years building a
Lamborghini in his basement and didn’t even have a way of getting it out when
he had finished: http://bit.ly/UwMVMk
